Mojang’s Scrolls goes into beta

When we were children, we started out playing with blocks. Big wooden ones, then small plastic ones. As our fingers got more dexterous our minds became more nimble, and we moved on to games of skill, chance and comparing numbers using cards. So it comes to pass that Mojang, developer of insanely popular Minecraft, has graduated its game creation repertoire.

Scrolls, the follow-up to Minecraft, is a trading-card type battle arena which pits you against other players and involves something to do with real money too. I don’t know what that is, as I never have any. So I shan’t be taking part in the beta either, as it costs $20 (R201) to take part in the game at this point in time. You should try it though. If you do, let us know how you get on in the comments below.

You can sign up over here. Let battle commence and all that.
