Continuing with its data visualisations of tweets with geolocation data Twitter has released the interactive Andes, an interactive elevation map of San Francisco, New York, and Istanbul that shows where the most tweets are being sent in those cities. For each map, you can change between eight different layers over the topography and also change the size of the elevation differences to get a better idea of where the most tweets are sent from.
Twitter’s in-house data visualization scientist Nicolas Belmonte clearly has a talent for creating awesome content with the Twitter firehose. Check out the interactive maps on Twitter’s GitHub page.
