Read the PlayStation 4 manual online right now

It’s probably not the first thing anyone thinks to do ahead of a console launch, but Sony has made the PlayStation 4 manual available online in case anyone wants to read it before getting their hands on a PS4 later this week; well, anyone who lives in North America, anyway. In true Sony style, it’s not just a boring document, it’s a fully interactive website that splits the PlayStation 4’s various features into sections for easy navigation.

Manuals are generally quite dull, but they also offer some interesting snippets of information. We did a little digging, and found more information about viewing and synchronising Trophies:

We also discovered that you can operate the PS4 with your voice using the included headset. Once you say PlayStation into the mic, the options that can be performed with voice commands appear on the screen. It’s handy for getting around the interface’s home screen and even launching games with words alone.

For us South Africans, reading the manual is as close as we’re going to get to the PS4 for another month. Sure, it’s not exactly a Tom Clancy novel, but it’s pretty useful for learning beforehand how to set everything up, so that you’re prepared when December 13 finally rolls around.

Happy reading!
