New Alien game values scares over action

Alien: Isolation looks like it might be the best game Alien game to come along in years. That’s because it’s not another terrible shooter like Colonial Marines or 2010’s Alien vs. Predator. This time around it’s a survival horror game that recalls the incredibly tense atmosphere that made the first Alien movie so successful by pitting players against a single Alien and challenging them to survive.

It’s a game in the same vein as recent scare-mongering hits like Amnesia, as it places its storytelling emphasis on the psychological scares brought on by having your fragile meat-sack of a body being hunted by something bigger, faster, stronger and potentially smarter than you are.

But don’t take our word for it: watch this video put together by the good folks over at GameTrailers.com that gives you ten facts about what the game will and will not be.
