Data collected globally from users of the iOS activity tracking app, Human, has revealed that Cape Town is among the least physically active cities in the world.

Human calculated data from users and visualised 12070080 kilometres of activity across 30 major cities around the world to get an insight into how the app’s users move.

According to the data gathered by Human, 25% of Cape Town users walk, which is 12% below the average in other cities – 2% run, 5% cycle and 68% use cars, which is 18% higher than the average in other cities.

Unsurprisingly, Los Angeles came out as the city with the highest percentage of car users.
