GirlCode Hackathon to kick off women’s month this weekend

To kick off the women’s month celebrations in August, government software development firm Boxfusion is hosting a hackathon for women, by women, this weekend.

If you have any ideas for apps and technology that’s aimed at helping women, then the GirldCode Hackathon is just for you. The event is aimed at young women studying software development related courses, as well as girls looking to study and pursue careers in software development.

General manager at Thoughtworks South Africa, Kgomotso Sediane, has been lined up as the guest speaker for the day and one of her main focuses is to introduce black women into the software development field.

To register for the GirlCode event, email hackathon@boxfusion.co.za.
