The LEGO women scientists now have their own Twitter account

If tiny little plastic lady scientists could talk, what would they say? We have no idea, but we think we know what they’d Tweet.

The LEGO Research Institute set, which features three women scientists as tiny plastic minifigs, was released earlier this month after receiving the most votes to become the latest LEGO Ideas set to be manufactured by the toy-maker. A woman who is a fan of the minifigures loves it so much that she has created a Twitter account dedicated to depicting life as a LEGO woman scientist.

@LegoAcademics was created by Donna Yates, an American archaeologist based in Scotland, who wasted no time getting her hands on the LEGO set as soon as it was released. She uses some of her own work experiences to set up scenarios and take photos of the Research Institute ladies hard at work in their workspaces.

Yates puts a lot of creativity into depicting the scenarios and uses faces and pieces from other LEGO sets to create different expressions, looks and physical settings for the minifigures.

The @LegoAcademics account currently has 16 300 followers who retweet, favourite or reply to the photos Yates posts everyday and with the account only being a week old, the number of followers is probably set to grow even bigger.

Below are some of the tweets Yates has posted so far.
