Final line-up for the Unyazi IV Electronic Music Festival announced

Electronic music lovers attending the Unyazi IV Electronic Music Festival which takes place as part of the Fak’ugesi Festival next week will be glad to know that the line-up for the festival has been announced.

Nine concerts, an artistic sound installation, as well as a non-stop listening room have all been scheduled for the five-day festival from 9th to 15th September at the at Wits and the Goethe Institute.

You can view the full program on the New Music SA website.

One of the major highlights of this year’s festival is Lukas Ligeti’s sound installation, which will run for the duration of the festival at JoziHub in Milpark, where listeners will hear sounds recorded at soccer games at World Cup matches in Brazil – fans chanting, players panting, vendors hawking, balls hitting goalposts – reassembled into a new, fictional match.

A festival pass for admission to all Unyazi IV Electronic Music Festival events can be purchased for R100. Admission to both evening concerts taking place on Wednesday and Saturday nights is R50. Festival goers can also take advantage of low general admission pricing at R40 for evening concerts, while at lunchtime concerts admission is free.
