WhatsApp iOS update lets you add captions to media and send slow-mo videos

Instant messaging service, WhatsApp’s latest update to its iOS app comes with quite a handful of useful new features, mostly focused on improved media sharing.

For starters, you can now add captions to photos and videos before you send them to your friends and (just like with the Android app) you can take photos from within the app using the camera icon in the text bar.

In a move that’s perhaps a slight imitation of Vine’s latest update, WhatsApp version 2.11.9 has also added the ability for iPhone 5S users to share slow-motion videos. You can also do a bit of editing by trimming videos to make them shorter.

To make your WhatsApp a little more personal and themed to your liking, you can choose from wallpapers and notification tones that have been added to the app.

Other iOS features include the ability to attach screenshots when you want to report a problem and added support for satellite and hybrid map views when sharing a location.

Download or update WhatsApp for iOS from iTunes.
