Find the best doctor or specialist online with WhatClinic

The telephone directory (or Google) can be helpful when you’re looking for a plumber, electrician, etc., but when you need the services of a health care practitioner, you need a bit more help with finding one that suits your exact health requirements and needs. In comes WhatClinic.

Based in Ireland and launched in 2007, WhatClinic is a global health services directory available in over 100 countries that lists the services of private doctors such as dentists, pediatricians, optometrists, plastic surgeons and more. It recently launched in South Africa.

On the site, you can read reviews and see scores given by other patients who have used a service, send an enquiry, see how much they charge, contact the clinic and even book online with selected service providers.

Around 500 specialists have already been listed in South African directory according to WhatClinic.

Health care providers can also add their details to the site.

“We believe in a world where elective health patients will be able to make active and individual decisions about where to get treated, not unlike the way they decide which new car to buy today,” the company says on its website.
