Check out these amazing Wildlife Photographer of the Year images

Ask any photographer, and they will agree that wildlife photography is tough, purely based on the sheer amount of patience that is required as you never know what the subjects will do.

Which is exactly why these People’s Choice Award photos from this year’s Natural History Museum in the UK’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition is so incredible.

The annual competition announced its finalist recently, and will decide on an overall winner in October.

“It takes courage to put your photos forward, but the rewards for those who do are enormous. When I won Wildlife Photographer of the Year 25 years ago, it opened doors for me. The publicity it generates is astonishing, so I really want to encourage every professional and dedicated amateur to think about entering. It can be a career-defining move,” said Jim Brandenburg, chair of the jury.

Last year’s Grand Title competition was won by South African Greg du Toit for his photograph ‘Essence of elephants’.
