Have you been trying to buy your Christmas presents a little bit earlier though online retailer Takealot.com? Well, then you have probably noticed that the site has come to a screeching halt since early this morning.
One of the things that make Takealot.com so popular is its Daily Deals subsection, where visitors can scoop up some of the latest products at significantly lower prices than normal.
Tuesday saw the launch of the company’s Takealot Tuesday deals promotion, but it seems just a bit too much for the website, forcing the company to go into maintenance mode mere hours after the launch.
The company took to Twitter to explain the current situation.

While the main website appears to be down for the count, Takealot.com advised users to make use of the mobile application, which seems to be operating fine.
