Sci-Bono hosting maths and finance week to boost numerical literacy

From the 20th to the 24th of April, the Sci-Bono Discovery Centre in Newtown will be hosting a Finance and Mathematics Focus Week that aims to develop knowledge and skills in these two areas and stimulate interest through experimental learning.

The programme (under the theme “playing with numbers outside the classroom”) is designed for grades four to 12 with workshops covering all areas of maths and finance.

Some of the activities that learners will be able to take part in include, maths in space, probabilities, fractions, measurements, maths in buildings and careers in mathematics and finance.

The programme will take place next week from 9am to 1pm, from Monday to Friday. Entrance is free and learners are advised to pack a lunchbox.
