If you were hoping to start your week if without a hitch, Eskom has just thrown a spanner into your works.

Loadshedding is becoming more prominent (and problematic) and last week was pretty much Loadshedding Central in South Africa. Well, Eskom has just announced that Stage 1 loadshedding will start at 5pm today – which will make it the nineth consecutive day of scheduled darkness.

Eskom once again said that although it is only Stage 1, it could go on to a more severe stage if the power situation doesn’t improve.

Any unexpected changes on the constrained power system could lead to a change in the stage at short notice. Eskom will keep you updated.
