Welsh government uses Klingon to address questions about UFOs, yes really

There’s many ways to belittle your opponents in politics. Slander, false accusations and even outright insults are all in the arsenal of the respected politician.

But for sheer nerdy ingenuity and unexpectedness, an official spokesman from the Welsh government wins the day.

Shadow Health Minister Darren Millar had questioned the Welsh government about UFO sightings and if research into them would be funded.

“jang vIDa je due luq,” said the Welsh government spokesman, “‘ach ghotvam’e’ QI’yaH devolve qaS.”

If your imaginary extraterrestrial language skills are rusty (shame on you): “The minister will reply in due course. However this is a non-devolved matter.”

Millar had asked not one, but three different questions regarding alien spacecrafts in Wales. In response to the Klingon statement, he commented about his suspicions of the other politicians being “from another planet” are confirmed. Ah politics, never change.

Oh, and there is an entire teaching institution dedicated to teaching people fluent Klingon, which you can join if you want to break into the world of inter-planetary discourse. Again, we are not making these things up.
