[WATCH] The new trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s “The Hateful Eight”

The last time writer/director/film maker/movie obsessive  Quentin Tarantino graced us with a film was back in 2012 with the Western Django Unchained. Since then, we’ve been since waiting for his eighth movie, The Hateful Eight.

We’ve picked up a couple of details about the film – its release date is this December (in the US), it’s a Western and the cast of the movie is already up on IMDB – but we’d yet to see a trailer… until today:

We won’t spoil the very short video for you, but we see the quintessential Quentin movie ticks all the way through it; snappy dialogue, outlandish characters and guns, guns, guns.

Before we leave you to watch the trailer on a loop looking for clues and rejoicing at Michael Madsen having work again, we want to point out some interesting things about this movie.

Firstly, as the trailer will tell you near the end, the film will be released in the 70mm format, with a 35mm veriant for digital release. This is actually a big deal for film critics and movie buffs – if you’d like to know why we have you covered.

Secondly, Tarantino has before stated that he hopes to retire after making ten films, so with this movie being the eighth we’re fast approaching that number.

Finally, we’d like to sling some hate at the way the film’s titled is sometimes being stylised as a numeronym as in “The Hateful Eight” becoming “The H8ful Eight”. Listen, we understand that it’s your eighth movie and you think you’re very clever Quentin, but we thought you stopped using this kind of language when phones started including full keyboards.
