50 online shopping sites competing to be crowned SA’s best ecommerce platform

Cloud-base ecommerce platform uAfrica has just announced 50 online shopping sites that have been shortlisted for the 2015 South African Ecommerce Awards.

Launched in 2005, the South African Ecommerce Awards recognises local shopping sites that show excellence in service.

Over 200 entries were submitted earlier this year, and it was up to the public and award judges to determine who would make it to the final 50.

Last year, Yuppiechef took the overall Best Ecommerce Store award, and it happens to be in the running again this year so is clearly the one to beat.

Judges evaluated each site according to design, mobile functionality, checkout process, customer care and delivery.

The final 50 were announced via a press release. We’re trying to track down the missing one:

The winner will be crowned at a gala awards dinner on the 16th September in Sandton. Tickets for the event are available for purchase on the awards’ site.
