Come create at the Makers Corner in this year’s Decorex 2016

Decorex, an expo usually reserved for décor and interior design, is hosting a Makers Corner this year thanks to the folks at SA Maker Collective.

The focus of the corner is aimed at combining the maker initiative with the themes of Decorex, bringing the skills and confidence to create at home.

From simple projects that cost less than a night out to expensive 3D scanners and printers, there will be something for everyone:

Attractions at the Makers Corner:

  • Introduction to 3D printing for your home
  • 3D scanning
  • Make your own smart electronics to control your home
  • Robots and drones
  • Laser cutting
  • Demos and workshops:
    • Make It Yourself (MIY) Lighting
    • MIY Furniture
    • MIY Pottery
    • Leather Craft
    • Casting your own fittings and ironmongery
    • Welding

The details on the three shows taking place in Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg this year are posted below. They may change and the Johannesburg details haven’t been finalised yet. As soon as we have that information we will update the story.
