Live map updates: This is how nightmarish traffic around Mall Of Africa is

If you’re currently driving within about seven kilometres around the Mall of Africa (which opened today), we feel terribly sorry for you right now.

Hordes of shoppers flocking to be the first to see inside the “biggest mall in Africa” have practically brought traffic flowing in, out and around the mall to a standstill.

From what we’ve seen through live traffic updates on Google Maps and TomTom, traffic in the area has never been this bad.

It not only starts, but is also slow, from as far as East Bank in Alexandra coming from Linbro Park, the Halfway House interchange in Midrand, the Western Bypass in the Paulshof and Bryanston extension areas and the M1 near Woodmead.
