If you’ve been keeping an eye on htxt.africa’s twitter feed over the past week or so, you might have no doubt spotted a sponsored tweet about how we’re feeling (it is ‘optimistic’, in case you didn’t catch the tweet).
That post formed part of the South African kick-off activities for the One Brand Strategy Coca-Cola has embarked on to unite the ‘Coke’ family of soft drinks under a single brand – focusing on the feeling of drinking a Coke (be it the traditional, iconic soft drink or one of the sugar-free alternatives).
Right now you’re probably wondering what all of this has to do with the digital realm.
Well, stay with us for a while longer and we’ll explain.
One of the key elements of the campaign is an online Gif generator that allows you to choose a video from a literal ton of options displayed on a carousel, customise it with a word or phrase on how you’re feeling and the share it on your favourite social media platform.
It’s a novel idea and one that will no doubt get quite a bit of traction.
If you search social media for #EnjoyTheFeeling you’ll see how much fun people are having with the GIF generator and possibly you’ll be inclined to give it a try yourself.
Like most marketing campaigns there’s a bunch of elements, you might come across in your everyday life – like outdoor visuals, building wraps, point of sale activities, as well as iconic music and short films – all centred on how drinking a Coke makes you feel and makes a moment special.
The GIF generator is cool in that it’s interactive – and the bit that’s likely to appeal to a much broader and younger audience than the other activities.
