Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare reveal trailer surpasses 1 million dislikes

Call Of Duty developers Infinity Ward, along with the series’ publisher Activision, have been on the receiving end of a lot of online hate over the new trailer for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

Point your eyes to the official reveal trailer – the only shred of information we have about the game so far – and you’ll see the mammoth amount of dislikes. At time of writing, the video is sitting at almost 14 million views, and 1 129 234 dislikes.

While that number of dislikes alone is impressive, what’s more noteworthy is the amount of dislikes compared to views. If this playlist is to be believedJustin Bieber’s song Baby tops the chart with 6 million dislikes compared to 1.3 billion views. That’s a 1:224 dislike to view ratio. The Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is at a much higher 1:12.

If our quick, dirty and not scientific math is right, people hate Infinite Warfare almost 19 times more than Justin Bieber.  Infinity Ward, you have our permission to use that quote on the box.

When the trailer had less than 500 000 dislikes, Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg was quick to point out that Black Ops II also received a record amount of dislikes on its reveal trailer, but then went on to become their most successful game.

Reading the full statement on Kotaku, we very strongly get the vibe of “whatever, we’ll still make money”.

So, do you have a reason to hate Infinite Warfare? You may if you’re living in South Africa, because it’s going to cost you a lot of money locally.
