SA’s top CS:GO teams to compete for R150 000

PC retailers Evetech will be pitting four of SA’s top Counter Strike: GO teams against each in  in a tournament that’s offering R150 000 in prize money.

The prize will form part of Evetech’s Champions League (ECL) Season 1, which will run from 26th to 28th August in Centurion, and will see two other teams compete for a spot in the online qualifiers.

The four teams that will be competing will be Aperture Gaming, Bravado Gaming, Carbon eSports, and Energy eSports.

“We have no doubt that our August ECL (Season 1) event will not only usher in a new standard but also revolutionise and shape how eSports events in South Africa will be from now on, while shining the spotlight on the best South African gaming has to offer,” said explained Evetech Managing Director, Imran Sorathia.

Evetech naturally have big plans for the rest of the competition.

“We are planning big things with the ECL, and we implore you to keep your eyes glued for more information, as this is going to be something for the record books!” Sorathia said.

If you are not impressed just yet, we will have you know that the sponsor list for ECL includes Intel South Africa, MSI South Africa, SteelSeries, Crucial, Level-7 Wireless and Ballistix.

If you want to tag along and see the teams in action, you will have to quick on your feet as Evetech has warned that there will only be limited tickets to be won for spectators. More details on how to win tickets will be announced at a later stage.

But don’t be too disappointed if you can’t make it to Centurion over the three days or didn’t manage to get tickets, as the event will be streamed via nAvTV as well.
