New book launched to help entrepreneurs overcome stress and anxiety

Being an entrepreneur can be hard, not only on your time and money, but also your body and psychological well being. Which is why a South African business man has written a book to help fellow business people cope with stress and anxiety.

Titled “The Anxious Entrepreneur” and authored by Tiisetso Maloma, the book relates some of Maloma’s most anxiety-inducing encounters and the lessons learnt from them.

The book is aimed at helping aspiring and start-up entrepreneurs navigate the rocky terrain of new business ventures.

“Entrepreneurs, rightfully so, are always focused on achieving certain goals. We pursue opportunities we have always thought to be lucrative and this creates great expectations. We pine over visions, we obsess about how to reach those goals and even go as far as imagining how many units our products will sell,” Maloma explained.

“The funny thing is, nobody has control over reality and things don’t always pan out the way we had envisioned them. Subconsciously, we are shaken when our expectations are not met and this gets us anxious and at times depressed,” he added.

According to Maloma, the book is collection of anecdotes, emotions, feelings, frustrations and philosophies that will show entrepreneurs that, when anxiety is removed from one’s entrepreneurial process, creativity reaches its optimum.

Other helpful information in the book includes tips on:

  • Keeping you going with the bare essentials and making progress with limited resources
  • Tapping into your potential and making good ground
  • Testing business ideas without committing massive resources
  • How not to let the fear of ‘failure reputation’ stop and throttle you
  • Tactful networking

The Anxious Entrepreneur is available for sale on AmazonApple iBookstore and Kobo.co.za.
