[Press release] ITSI RECEIVES TOP ICT INNOVATOR AWARD

ITSI was awarded the Top ICT Achievers Award in the category Top ICT Innovator, by the South African Communications Forum (SACF). The prestigious event took place at The Galleria in Sandton last night (27 October).

The inaugural ICT Achievers Awards is a platform dedicated to recognising outstanding leadership, vision, inspiration and innovation in individuals and companies that are active in the ICT sector.

Nominations for the Top ICT Innovator award were based on noteworthy organisations or individuals that have embraced the digital age and created novel ways of ensuring better connectivity and access to the Internet, or for the use of ICT tools within South Africa. The nominees were judged on the following criteria:

  • An organisation or individual who introduced and developed a unique technological innovation which has advanced South Africa’s ICT industry; and

  • Thought leader who has developed solutions to advance the accessibility, availability and use of ICT tools within society.

ITSI provides educators and students with a digital solution that enhances and simplifies the teaching experience at every touchpoint. Their teaching technologies are designed with the educator in mind, enabling them to easily combine their own content – both found and personally created – with the most up-to-date curriculum content from leading publishers or the Internet. Their products are designed to work with all major smart device operating systems, enabling educators, lecturers, and facilitators to deliver student-specific content to any device.

ITSI CEO, Dr Lieb Liebenberg says: “ITSI attributes the company’s success to the thousands of educators and learners, in private and public schools alike, that inspire and partner with ITSI every day to find innovative ways of using technology for 21st century teaching and learning.”

About SACF

The South African Communications Forum (SACF) is a non-profit industry association. It was formed in 2001 as a successor of the African Telecommunications Forum (ATF), which was established in 1993.

SACF serves as an umbrella body in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry for the public sector, private sector and civil society organisations. It aims to unite these entities in partnering to create an information society, and to bridge the digital divide that is prevalent in some parts of South Africa.

SACF focuses primarily on serving the interests of its respective members and the broader ICT sector. This is achieved through proactive engagements at all stakeholder levels, including government departments and national agencies.
