Public Protector website already having issues pending #StateCaptureReport release

[UPDATE as at 2:30pm: It looks like the Public Protector website is completely down at this point]

[UPDATE as at 5:30pm: the Public protector website is still down, however, you can read the report on our follow up article]

Shortly after the North Gauteng High Court ordered that the office of the Public Protector release the #StateCaptureReport by no later than 5pm, the website, where the report will be published started experiencing technical issues.

The order was made not long after President Jacob Zuma withdrew his application for an interdict to stop the release of the report, which was meant to be released before the exit of former Public Protector, Thuli Madonsela.

The report was compiled after an investigation into whether or not the state had been manipulated by the controversial Gupta family for their own personal and business gains, among other things.

The Office of the Public Protector tweeted that the report will be made available on its website. Upon visiting the site, we found that it is already struggling to load and may experience more technical issues, if the servers cannot handle the expected traffic.

A quick check on DownForEveryoneOrJustMe, confirms our suspicions that it’s struggling with traffic.

We’ll keep an eye on the site to see whether or not the situation improves.
