Kent Beck, creator of extreme programming and one of the original signatories of the Agile Manifesto, is coming to Joburg and you have the chance to work with him.
Wits University has organised a hackathon with Beck that will be taking place this December.
In the span of a week Beck and four teams of developers will work on using technology to address social issues facing Johannesburg or South Africa as a whole. After the hackathon the resulting software will be open source and available to the public.
If you’d like to take part as a developer find the link to an application below. Participating is free, but spaces are limited to 24 people.
Alternatively, you can submit an idea for an issue for the hackathon to tackle.
