The New Revolution Pro Controller is available in SA

If you’re a PS4 owner in the market for a pro-controller you may have been staring with envy at the Xbox One Elite that launched in South Africa a while back.

It’s certainly a slick, solidly constructed piece of gaming kit, but obviously, it ain’t compatible with your console of choice.

That having been said, we have some good news for you: a new pro controller for the PS4 is arriving on our shores and, yes, it’s officially licensed.

Developer by independent manufacturer, Bigben Interactive, the Revolution Pro Controller is optimised for the PS4 and has been constructed for console esport players.

The Revolution Pro isn’t brand new – it was announced in October last year for release at Christmas overseas – but PlayStation’s local distributor Ster Kinekor has partnered with Bigben and become the official distributor for the control pad in South Africa.

This means you local PS4 fanboys (and girls) can now buy it.

Now comes the catch; as is the case with any pro-gaming kit, the Revolution Pro has a pretty substantial price tag attached. Ster Kinekor’s press statement reveals that the RRP for this admittedly good looking controller is R1 699.99.

However, a quick glance at a couple of the online retail outlets shows savvy consumers may be able to pick one up for a slightly cheaper price. At the time of writing it’s selling for R1 599.99 on RARU and R1 399.99 on Takealot. If that sounds like a lot, just remember that the Xbox One Elite controller is quite a bit more expensive on both of those sites, and like the Elite, the Revolution Pro can be used for PC gaming too.
