[Press Release] JCSE “WOMEN IN IT” FORUM

The JCSE is pleased to announce our first “Women in IT” event for 2017 that takes place on 6thFebruary. See details below.

Our “Women in IT” Forum is being hosted by the JCSE on behalf of the Institute of Information Technology Professionals SA (IITPSA) and in partnership with Quality Life.

“WOMEN IN IT” FORUM

WHERE ARE THE WOMEN? WHY ARE WOMEN UNDER-REPRESENTED IN THE IT WORKPLACE?

It has long been clear that women are not choosing careers in IT. While some roles, such as business analysis, do attract women practitioners – the more technical work in the ICT sector is still mostly done by men. As a first step to addressing this issue, the JCSE and the IITPSA in partnership with Quality Life will be hosting a Round Table conversation that aims to find reasons why this is still the situation in 2017.

Panellists:

  • Moderator: Debby Edelstein from Quality Life;
  • Ruddy Riba from BBD;
  • Arlene Mulder from “We Think Code”;
  • Rocky Medalie from FNB;
  • Xoliswa Mahlangu  from JCSE.
