IT glitch forces British Airways to cancel flights

British Airways has been forced to cancel all outbound flights from the Heathrow and Gatwick airport due to what the company called an IT problem.

The UK airline said it’s currently experiencing a global system outage which was causing very severe disruption to flight operations worldwide. Flight delays have also been reported in airports across Europe.

According to the BBC, some users have also reported not being able to some of the British Airways website and app functions.

Affected passengers will be offered the option of rescheduling their flight or getting a refund.

Both Heathrow and Gatwick airports are reportedly extremely congested with passengers and their luggage.

The airline said it is working with the airport to resolve the issue.
