Rick and Morty Season 3 has a release date

If you’re a Rick & Morty fan (and if you’re not, what the hell is the matter with you?) you’ll have been gnashing your teeth at the radio silence concerning the show’s third season.

Season 2 closed out its run in 2015 and since then all fans have had to chew over are an admittedly funny reading of a court transcription and one new episode that aired this year on April Fool’s Day. There was also a game made for smart devices, but the less said about that the better.

Well, hold onto your seats, true believers because Adult Swim just dropped a trailer for Rick & Morty Season 3 and it has a bona fide release date. Have a gander here:

If you couldn’t wait until the end of the trailer to find out when Rick & Morty’s new adventures would begin, the date to mark on your calendars is 30th July. Yes, that’s the end of next month. Nearly two years after Season 2 ended.

According to Dan Harmon, the show’s co-creator, the reason third season took so long to see the light of day is that the team wanted to make sure there was no drop-off in quality.

Fans have hurled everything from abuse to memes to desperate pleading tweets at Harmon over the last couple of years about the gap between seasons. Now they have 10 episodes to look forward to. We hope you’re all satisfied now.

Now, while we at htxt are resolutely against pirating or torrenting shows like this, we have to admit we are curious about how many souls out there are going to help themselves to this show through illicit means. After all, Adult Swim isn’t available worldwide and Rick & Morty have a rabid fanbase. Could Rick & Morty break the record set by Game Of Thrones?
