Apple has chosen an unlikely duo to show off what its virtual assistant Siri is capable of – Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Siri itself.

The duo star in The Rock x Siri Dominate the Day which is being billed as a movie. Truth be told at 3:45, the “movie” seems like more of a long advert.

The point of the film is to show users what Siri is capable of. Indeed, if you browse the video description on YouTube you’ll find a link to the Siri page on Apple’s website.

And that’s it, there’s no real reason for this existing other than to market Siri and the iPhone 7.

A report by Engadget suggests that Siri is about to become rather important to Apple with the release of the HomePod. This advert may be Apple’s way of drumming up popularity for the assistant in an age where Amazon’s Alexa and Google’s Assistant have entered living rooms.

It’s a bit of fun for a Monday, even if it does make you cringe.
