Behold, Hearthstone’s new and insane card for Priest

If you’re a Hearthstone player (and really, if you’re not, what’s the matter with you?) you’ll know that the latest expansion for the game, Knights Of The Frozen Throne, drops this month.

There have been several card reveals so far on both fan pages and gaming websites, but most recently, IGN showed off an exclusive reveal for a new Priest class card. And it’s a doozy!

The card in question is Archbishop Benedictus and World Of Warcraft players will recognise him as being a rather big player in both Blizzard’s MMO and the lore of WOW in general. Those who aren’t up to speed can check out his rather detailed history on WOWpedia.

Hearthstone players will be rather more interested in this card’s powers and once you check out Benedictus’s Battlecry, your mouth may fall open. You see, playing this card shuffles a copy of your opponent’s deck into your deck.

Yes, you read that correctly. You can copy your opponent’s deck once you play this card.

Now, before the forums light up with hate for Hearthstone’s developers, there are two things one should bear in mind. First up, Benedictus only copies the cards one’s opponent has remaining in their deck. This means if he’s one of the last cards you play, you’ll get only a handful of cards.

Second, playing this card early on in a game will play havoc with any carefully constructed strategy one has for a well made deck; that is, you’ll get to the cards you want very slowly indeed.

Mind you, the introduction of this card could change a lot of Priest deck strategy’s wholesale. What do you think? You looking forward to adding the archbishop to your Priest’s deck? Really, this is probably the weirdest card we’ve seen introduced since Yogg-Saron.
