IoT Entrepreneurship Programme launched by SqwidNet

The South African Sigfox operator SqwidNet has created a programme for entrepreneurs to develop their IoT proficiency.

Called the IoT Entrepreneurship Programme – or (IoT)E– it will take the form of a three-day workshop focusing mainly on device development, software and analytics, and business skills.

After the workshop, there will be an online seminar (we refuse to use the term “webinar”) happening once a week for six weeks.

If you’re interested in partaking. you’ll have to fight hard to get into the limited 25 spaces. To do so you can either tweet out your motivation using the hashtag #iotep and by tagging @SqwidNet, or email them directly at iotep@sqwidnet.com.

After the participants have been chosen the programme will begin in January 2018.

We highly encourage any makers already working on ideas using IoT systems to give this a bash as it looks like a great opportunity to turn a hobby project into a business. After the great things we saw the the first Raspberry Pi Jam last month, we know there’s a lot of great, local projects that could be funded this way.

Speaking of which, SqwidNet also has a pool of funding available with the intentions of turning working prototypes into production products.
