New trailer confirms The Punisher’s release date

Well, here’s finally some good news this Friday – after the week we’ve all had, it’s pretty clear we need some.

The Punisher – Marvel’s upcoming Netflix series centred around arguably the grimmest, grittiest character in its universe – finally has a release date. Viewers can expect the adventures of Frank Castle to kick off on 17th November. Yes, that’s just under a month away.

The show stars Joe Berthnal in the title role and if you watched the last series of Daredevil, you’ll know he brings an intensity to the role that could probably power a national grid. He very nearly stole the show in DD season two.

If you want an idea of what to expect from The Punisher clock an eye at the trailer below:

Now, as Polygon has pointed out, The Punisher is set to launch on the very same day as Justice League lands in cinemas globally. With the exception of Iron Fist, every single Marvel series has been met with critical acclaim. Conversely, nearly every single DC film that’s seen release recently – with the exception of Wonder Woman – hasn’t exactly received glowing reviews.

That having been said, it’s hardly likely that The Punisher is going to significantly eat into Justice League’s box office receipts. But it would be interesting to see how many comic book fans are going to be staying at home on the 17th of November rather than heading off to the cinema.

What do you think? Are you down for The Punisher or Justice League first? Let us know in the comments below.
