Print your own bullets

Hot on the heels of the world’s first 3D printed gun, The Liberator, a Tennessee team have put together the world’s first 3D printed bullet (as far as I know, anyway). Fast Company picked up on the story this morning, and it’s bound to herald yet another round of head scratching as to how to legislate for safety with 3D printers now in the mainstream conscious.

Taofledermaus, for it is he, hasn’t actually built a regular bullet just yet -basically it’s a shotgun shell filled with traditional lead shot and gunpowder. So the good news is that it can’t be fired from The Liberator just yet. He also adds that the rounds he tested were very inaccurate at the moment. So it’s not quite time to panic just yet – after all, there’s plenty of YouTube videos of other idiots doing stupid things with shotguns.

Maybe tomorrow, though.
