Every school in Swaziland has a computer lab

Next you meet a hip young entrepreneur/developer type over the top of a latte, there’s a fair chance that they might heark from Swaziland. UK charity Computer Aid International reckons that it’s shipped enough PCs to the country now to kit out every high school with a computer lab – which may well be an African first.

Apparently, CA has been working with a Swazi NGO called Computer Educational Trust (CET), with the backing of central government, to ship five and a half thousand PCs to the country. CET is currently investigating TV white spaces as a way of connecting schools to the internet too.

I have no idea whether or not the claim about being the only  African country where every secondary school has a computer lab is true or not, but it’s still a pretty impressive achievement all the same.
