Apple’s iCloud page gets an iOS7-themed makeover

One of the things almost forgotten about in the run-up to this September’s expected release of both iOS 7 and OS X Mavericks, is Apple’s iCloud service. The web portal for Apple’s cloud services usually looks a bit bland, offering users the ability to track their devices through the Find My iPhone service, check their iCloud email, and manage contacts.

But at WWDC Apple also showed off iWork for iCloud. This is its move to compete with Google Docs, and a lucky few people have been able to use their Apple IDs to log into the iCloud beta page, and try out the new tools ahead of launch. For those interested, the three new additions are Pages, a word processor; Numbers, a spreadsheet app; and Keynote, for putting together presentations. Despite running in a web browser, they perform very well and the presentation isn’t far off from their desktop counterparts.

Apple’s also spruced up the landing page in the iCloud beta, which now sports a very iOS 7-esque set of graphics, replete with flat icons and an animated background.
