Boardgames, RPGs and Trek: Joburg gets a new geek venue

Look out Joburg-dwellers, nerdiness just got a new home. Or, more correctly, is getting a new home. We’ve just been pointed in the direction of DeeTwenty, a new country club-style venue for playing boardgames, hosting RPG sessions, Magic: The Gathering and so on. Like House4Hack, it’s essentially a bunch of enthusiasts renting a house in which all can indulge in traditional geek activities, cosplay optional.

DeeTwenty is based in Randburg and plans to open its doors properly in November, and will have four large rooms for hire plus space for members to turn up and play. While you await the grand opening, you can check out the membership options and, if you have a particular group you do geek things with on a regular basis, you can apply to be an official affiliate and get discounted/free access for your members.

Sounds awesome to me. We’ll be reporting back on its progress very soon…
