Gigabyte’s new diminutive gaming PC

At Intel’s Developer Forum (IDF)  in San Francisco Gigabyte have unveiled a new version of its Brix compact PC this time however they have updated the Brix to use Intel’s latest Haswell CPUs. The Brix II is powered by a Haswell chip with on board Iris graphics which Intel claims rivals the power of a discrete mobile GPU like Nvidia’s GeForce GT 650M.  There are a bevy of ports on the Brix iII including an HDMI and Mini DisplayPort outputs for graphics, 2 front and 2 rear USB 3.0 ports, a Gigabit Ethernet port, built in Wi-Fi, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The Brix II has VESA mounts to be attached to the back of a flat screen TV which should make for an interesting all-in-one gaming solution. Pricing for the barebones Brix II is around $600 but considering it still needs still needs RAM, an HDD and an OS added to that price you should be looking in the region of around $900 by the time you’re done. The Brix II will be available in the US in December and we certainly hope that it comes here soon after.
