Battlefield game designer is speaking at Wits next week

Want to hear how DICE makes the Battlefield games for PC, Xbox and PlayStation, and maybe get a bit of a heads-up on how work is progressing on Battlefield 4 ahead of its release? Us too, that’s why we’ll be at Wits University next Wednesday to hear Daniel Matros speak. And you should be too.

Matros is the producer of the series, and is also something of a name on the pro-gaming scene too as the manager of Epsilon Esports. And when he’s tired of aiding and abetting in the slaughter of uncounted digital avatars, he runs a TwitchTV channel dedicated to raising money for good called Charitystream.

According to Wits, Matros will be speaking on the subject game development, digital arts and IT infrastructure.

As an aside, there was a thought-provoking exhibition of student art a couple of years ago that I wrote about for PCGamer.com, looking at how the Frostbite engine could be used to make us think about serious photojournalism. Will be bringing that up on Wednesday, I think.

Matros will be following up the evening at Wits with a session at the rAge expo too, which is being held at the Dome in North Riding from 4-6th October.
