Adobe Photographer Program bundles Photoshop and Lightroom for $10 a month

Photoshop, when it was sold as a retail package, was never the cheapest application you’d get your hands on. For photographers, who’d need both Photoshop and RAW-processing powerhouse, Lightroom, the costs were even higher.

Now, with the company’s subscription-based Creative Cloud software, there’s the option to rent the software and be privy to the latest versions at all times. When Adobe introduced Creative Cloud earlier this year it was $50 (around R500) a month, for the entire Creative Suite. Career photographers now have the option to subscribe to the Photoshop Photographer Program, a bundle that offers both Photoshop and Lightroom for just $10 (around R100) a month.

It beats the pants off paying R6 000 for Photoshop alone, but the deal is only available for a limited time. Adobe will offer the bundle at this price until December 31st, and it doesn’t say what the price will be after that time.

And there’s one big caveat, here: the offer is only available to folks who have a license for Photoshop CS3 or newer. That instantly makes it a no-go for any first-time photographer who’s just starting their own business, and will need to fork out more money for Adobe’s subscription software program.
