iPhone 5S and 5C available in South Africa from 15 November

The latest generation of Apple’s iOS 7 toting smartphones, the iPhone 5S and 5C will be available in South Africa from the 15th of November.

Vodacom made the announcement this morning via Twitter.

The phones, which were launched officially on the 20th of September, will come to South Africa a full month earlier than the iPhone 5 did, which only managed to make it to our shores on the 14th of December last year. The iPhone 5S looks very similar to last year’s iPhone 5 and uses Apple’s latest A7 processor along with a new fingerprint sensor to unlock the device and to authorise payments in the iTunes store. The iPhone 5C on the other hand is essentially the iPhone 5 in a colourful polycarbonate shell.

Vodacom has a pre-registration web page up which allows you to sign up for further information on the launch when it becomes available.

For those of you that are that are considering the upgrade but need to know a bit more about the iPhone 5S, you can read our extensive review of the phone.
