iOS 7.0.4 update fixes Facetime calls, and more

Just in time for the local launch of the iPhone 5s and 5c, Apple’s released an update to iOS 7. Of course, it applies to iPads as well.

The update – the fourth for Apple’s new-look mobile operating system – fixes issues with Facetime calls, which only affected a handful of users. Apple also says that the update includes bug fixes and security updates, though it doesn’t divulge what they are.

It’s just a 37MB update, so shouldn’t deplete your cap if you’re running on a limited bandwidth allowance. Alternatively, just pop onto a wireless network and save your 3G data for later.

Those who’re picking up their own iPhone 5s and 5c today will have the phones ship without the update. The phones will prompt for the iOS 7.0.4 update. It might seem like a hassle to have a launch day update, but this timing is purely coincidental. Besides, better safe than sorry – so run the small update and enjoy your new phone.
