FNB charging more for the iPhone than anyone else

FNB has officially begun offering the new iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c on its Smart Devices web page. The phones, which went on sale on Friday last week, are now available through all four of the major cell networks as well as the iStore which is offering them for cash. FNB’s Smart Devices offer allows its customers with transactional accounts to get two to four devices that they can pay off interest free over a period of 24 months.

FNB’s pricing on Smart Devices has traditionally been lower than the cash price over the term of the loan which has led to customers saving money on both the device and on not having to pay interest charges associated with the loan. The new iPhones however will all be more expensive than their iStore cash equivalents by the time they are paid up in full and even Vodacom’s cash prices which are higher still (although Vodacom has not begun selling the new iPhones for cash yet and is only offering them to contract customers).

We have a full guide on all of the pricing for the iPhone 5s and 5c available here.
