Popular iOS camera app VSCO Cam arrives on Android today


After months of beta testing the Android version of the popular photo app for iOS, VSCO Cam, the folks at Visual Studio Company are releasing the app sometime today. The app is rated four stars in the iTunes app store with over 2200 ratings at the moment proving that it is popular among the iPhone faithful. VSCO specialise in add-ons for photo editing suits like Photoshop, Lightroom and Aperture and they’ve brought their knowledge to bear when they created the app for iOS. At launch VSCO cam will come with 10 preset filters and tools, which work in a similar manner to Instagram’s filters, with 38 additional custom presets available via in-app purchases for those looking for more.

While VSCO says that the Android app is compatible with most devices running Android 4.0 and above it has been optimized for a list of some of the most popular devices at launch:

  • Moto X
  • Nexus 4
  • Nexus 5
  • Sony Xperia
  • Samsung Galaxy S3
  • Samsung Galaxy S4
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 3
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 2
