Where to watch the live stream for Nelson Mandela’s funeral

Former president Nelson Mandela passed away on the 5th of December, 2013. Current president, Jacob Zuma, announced that there would be a ten day mourning period, which concludes with Madiba’s state funeral today, the 15th of December. The funeral proceedings are set to start at 08h00, SAST (GMT +2).

The SABC has, amazingly, been pretty generous with making its broadcasts available through YouTube. First for Madiba’s farewell memorial at the FNB stadium in Soweto, attended by hundreds of dignitaries, and now again as a means where people can watch the official funeral, which takes place at Mandela’s childhood home of Qunu, in the Eastern Cape. Thousands will attend the funeral, but millions more will be watching the live broadcast. The SABC will be the only broadcaster at the funeral, and for those who won’t be near a TV, but have access to a reliable internet connection, the live online stream will be invaluable.
