6 seconds to glory – Enter the Jozi Film Festival using Vine

The annual Jozi Film Festival (JFF) takes place for the third time in February. While we were sadly not included in the running for a Best Film award for our DStv Explora review, there is an awesome side competition running that only requires a smartphone and the six second looping videos from the Vine app to enter. Best of all, your Vine could net you R1 000 prize.

Entry, according to the organisers, is simple:

  1. Download the Vine app (It’s available for iOS, Android and Windows Phone 8)
  2. Create your own 6 second Vine video focusing on the theme: “UNEXPECTED”
  3. Share your video/the link to your Vine video with @CarelNolte on Twitter, including the #jff2014 hashtag in your post (judges will take into account number of likes on Vine and tweets each video receives, so remember the hashtag)
  4. Once you’ve done that, you’re in the running to win

Prizes are said to be ‘cool’ but we have our sights set on one of the five prizes of R1000 that are being offered. Even if you don’t enter, check out the #jff2014 hashtag to see what the entries look like and help your favourites win.

The competition is open to anyone and entries can be submitted any time before the deadline at midnight on 16 February 2014.
