[VIDEO] Tourists narrowly escape attack by lions in Kruger Park

It seems humans just never learn.

Just over a week after the video of an elephant attacking tourists in the Kruger Park went viral, a new video of tourists in the park who narrowly escape being attacked by lions, was posted on the Kruger Sightings YouTube channel.

In the video, shot near the Phabeni Gate, four cars can be seen surrounding a male and female lion lying in the middle of the road. Some of the tourists in the cars are holding cameras and are hanging out of their windows to get a better glimpse of the two animals.

In a split second, the lions are seemingly startled and almost pounce on two kids in the car directly opposite them, everybody retreats back into their cars and the lions turn and walk back into the bush.

The video has again raised concerns over the way tourists act towards wild animals in game reserves, putting themselves and the animals in danger.

“If he had decided to attack, there wouldn’t have been enough time to get in the car and close the window.” Kruger Sightings say at the end of the video. “Animals are used to people inside their cars, the second you are outside your car, the animal feels threatened.”
