Happy Valentine’s Day! Have some super high-res Titanfall beta screenshots

Did you get anything nice for Valentine’s Day? If so, that’s awesome, but if not, these ridiculously high-resolution screenshots from EA’s Titanfall beta test should put a smile on your face.

PC Gamer in the US recently built a monstrously powerful gaming PC they have dubbed the “Large Pixel Collider”. It has four of NVidia’s Titan graphics cards (at R16,299 each) set up in SLI mode hooked up to three monitors that each support a resolution of 2560 x 1440. The total resolution of the system is a mind-boggling 7680 x 1440.

They then captured screenshots of EA’s Titanfall beta running on that rig, and posted them online for all to see. Each uncompressed image is over 10mb in size (some as big as 24mb), so we’ve posted previews of them here but you can head over to the PC Gamer website to grab them in their full-sized glory for closer inspection. There are many more images there than the five we’ve posted here for you to ogle at.

Take note, though, that this isn’t final game code, and the horrible-looking textures you’ll see are that way because they were set to 25% of their actual size in order to keep the Titanfall beta download to a manageable size. Expect the final game’s textures to look a lot prettier.
