Uber does Valentine’s day right

Premium taxi service, Uber, is doing Valentine’s day right.

Its app, used for hailing taxis and paying for rides, has been transformed temporarily, reflecting the general mood of February 14th. When logging in today users will see the usual black cars, on the map, replaced with little pink ones that have hearts. Additionally, the fare options button, used for displaying fare details, has been replaced with an arrow-shot heart.

Uber users in Johannesburg also get a little more joy. Those who request an Uber after 5pm, presumably to ferry their loved ones to a dinner date, will be given a rose as well as some Lindt chocolate. A great win for the marketing team, but something that’ll be appreciated by the romantic types.
